A contract for work is a legal document whereby the contractor undertakes to produce a specific work for remuneration (price). The contract must contain a description of the work, the price, the deadline and the obligations of both parties. It must be in written form.
Unlike an employment contract, a contract for work does not establish a relationship of subordination. The contractor is independent and responsible for the quality of the work. They are not required to manage working hours or the place of performance.
The contractor is responsible for the quality and correctness of the work performed. If the work is defective, the client has the right to rectification or a price reduction. The warranty period is typically 24 months from acceptance of the work.
The contractor should have insurance in case of damage or injury during work. For construction work, insurance is mandatory. The client should verify that the contractor is insured.
